Baghpat, Uttar Pardesh

Baghpat is a disitrict in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Baghpat, derives its name from vyagprastha (“land of tigers”) because of the population of tigers found many centuries ago. One of the main attractions of Baghpat is the Trilok Teerth Dham, a Jain temple in Bada Gaon. This temple is built in shape of Jain Emblem. This temple is 317 feet in height out of which 100 feet is below the ground and 217 feet above the ground. On top of the temple there is a 31 feet tall statue of Rishabhdev made up of Ashtadhatu (8 metals) in padmasan posture.

Located in this ancient region is a Producer Organization with 250+ members some of whom we interacted with on 17th and 18th of March 2021, all experts in Handloom Craft. The patterns, designs, color combinations used for the products are simply awesome and attractive. A fabulous vision to make their products world famous, they were all too eager to absorb new learnings and information. The continuous interactions were extremely interesting, we were really fascinated to see their earnest efforts to accomplish what they have envisioned for their organization.
