Lawapani is one of the most beautiful places in Lohardaga district located in the state of Jharkhand and is a well known tourist destination famous for its mountainous roads and enthralling waterfall. Lawapani waterfall has a very unique characteristic that is not very commonly noticed in other waterfalls. Lawapani doesn’t fall from the height in a perpendicular way, instead it falls from east to west making twelve steps of different heights. The height of the steps varies from 10 ft to 80 ft, having an average of 30 ft.

We got to interact with a Producer Organisation, Lavapani Craft Pvt.Ltd on Nov 9 and 10. Nearly 130+ artisans are associated with this organisation, with their expertise being Dari-Kaleen, Jute and Dhokra craft.  During the 2 day interaction, we could see in these wonderful, down to earth people the desire to learn, excel in their crafts and take their crafts to the outside world.  A wonderful experience to say the least.
